STARS Conference (Start Transition and Realize Success) - today in Palm Beach County there are almost 25,000 students with disabilities in the public school system, and every year, thousands of these youth drop out or leave high school, without a blueprint for building a productive life beyond high school. The conference will feature informational workshops on IEPs (Indvidual Education Plan) for transition from high school, as well as information about a wide array of community-based services and post-high school options for young people with disabilities. The conference is being held on Saturday, April 1, 2006 from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Palm Beach Central High School on Forest Hill Blvd. just before 441 on the north side. If interested in volunteering for registration and/or workshops, please contact Donna Pulda at 561-375-6675 or donnapulda@unitedwaypbc.org - shifts are available. |
