Lubeznik Center For The Arts
The Lubeznik Center for the Arts is a dynamic, contemporary arts center whose mission is to creatively interweave art exhibitions, the performing arts, educational programming and collaborative community outreach to enrich the arts experience within the region.
Description:
The Lubeznik Center for the Arts meets its mission through: • Exhibits featuring high quality work by international, national and regional artists; • Interpretative programs structured to encourage art appreciation; • Hands-on arts activities that allow individuals to experience their own artistic creativity; • Coordination and provision of after-school arts education to encourage school children’s educational achievement; and arts programming for individuals from regional social service organizations with underserved populations who have limited resources for arts experiences. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The Lubeznik Center has five full-time and four part-time staff. The Center benefits from a volunteer Board of Directors and a significant number of community volunteers. We expand our organization’s expertise in educational programming, finance, marketing, fund development, permanent collection and curatorial functions by recruiting diverse volunteers with specific identified skills to serve on these committees.
History:
The Lubeznik Center was incorporated in 1977 and has had several names over its 30+ year history. In 2004 Shirley Lubeznik donated to us the building where we are currently housed and after a year of renovations we opened with the world class photography exhibit by Victor Skrebneski.
