Description:
For 55 years Mental Helath America of Porter County, Inc., has provided many programs designed to enhance our community's knowledge and understanding about mental illness, to aid individuals suffering from a mental illness along with their loved ones and to help all community members maintain mental wellness. The Organization's Board of Directors, staff and volunteers work to increase mental health through collaboration with partners in our community.

History:
In 1953 a small group of caring community members, with a budget of $259, formed the Mental Health America of Porter County, Inc. Their mission. . .to advocate for the mentally ill. Today, 54 years later, we continue to be a voice for the mentally ill and have broadened our services to provide education, resource and referral and support to help all members of our community improve and maintain their mental wellness.
