Village Park Enrichment Center At Banta
Formerly known as the Banta Activity Center, the Village Park Enrichment Center at Banta is dedicated to enriching lives beyond fifty.
Description:
Managed through an innovative partnership between the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation and Pines Village Retirement Communities, the center offers an extensive list of activities and opportunities. Activities include a newly renovated Fitness Center, singing groups, line dancing, exercise group, nutritious lunches, pinochle, bingo, bunco, billiards, parties, health screenings, educational programs and much, much more.
History:
Located in the former Banta Elementary School, the Banta Senior Center opened in 1978 under the direction of the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation. In January 2007 a partnership was formed with Pines Village Retirement Communities. In May of 2007 the name was changed to the Village Park Enrichment Center at Banta. The new name reflects the commitment of this partnership and the mission to enrich the lives of older adults. Now a senior center for 29 years, we are 500 members strong and growing! We have provided entertainment and meaningful opportunities for our members throughout the years. Through the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation we also continue to offer evening and weekend classes for lifelong learning to anyone over 18 years of age.
