Opportunities with Independent Cat Society

We need volunteers to to help
maintain the building and grounds, which includes mowing, trimming hedges
and trees, pulling weeds, gardening, cleaning gutters, and changing light
bulbs. Also, light carpentry and some electrical work are needed, from those
who are skilled in these areas. more

Volunteers will help clean the Independent Cat Society shelter. Although we employ a daily cleaning staff, we
need periodic and thorough "spring cleaning" several times a year!
Volunteers may wash cat furniture, windows and walls, and do laundry. more

You can help the Independent Cat Society cats by making and donating crafts
for our fundraising events. These include cat toys, beds, scratching posts
or pads, cat-themed jewelry, and other human or pet items. Items with a cat
motif are very popular. more

Cats admitted to the shelter often include those who are abused or
neglected, recuperating from medical treatment, or expecting kittens.
Because these cats need frequent attention and a quiet place to recuperate,
they are cared for in the loving homes of the Independent. . . more

Volunteers are needed to visit the cats at the Independent Cat Society shelter. These visits provide companionship, playtime, and brushing. An added benefit for the cats is that increased socialization improves a cat's chances for adoption. When
