Help is need to promote, prepare for and conduct the event on January 16, 2010. The family friendly festival is free to the public. Past festival offered speakers on the Underground Railroad, climate change, ice boating, ice safety and the Sellerski competition for high school students. Speakers have discussed the history of Wolf Lake, the Indiana dunes, company towns, the Little Calumet and the Calumet region. Cross-country skiing, skating, pick-up hockey, and hiking have been offered. The festival has featured birding tours, tours of the restored Wolf Lake shoreline, and tree identification walks. Volunteer Training Sessions are held the first Saturday of the month. Please call in advance.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Association For The Wolf Lake Initiative
