Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 13, 2009 |
A volunteer group or even a family can volunteer to purchase, cook and serve a meal to the shelter community (about 75 people) in our multi-purpose room. Most groups cook at their own site and heat it up at the shelter. The groups bring the paper plates/cups and plastic silverware to serve the meal. Most groups bring beverages and desserts. The groups cook enough food so that they can sit down and eat with the shelter community, a great chance to get to know people and break down barriers. To create more fun or interaction, some groups have done a holiday theme or brought music, games or children's party favors. Church groups are welcome to hold an optional prayer service with our clients after the meal. Call 548-2379 to arrange a date. 4-12 volunteers per meal. This opportunity is sponsored by: CCA / Spring Valley Shelter
