History:
ACT NOW is a project of the Volunteer Center that brings people who want to contribute to their community together with local organizations that can benefit from volunteer time and effort. For those who do not have the time to commit to long-term volunteer opportunities, ACT NOW provides the chance to make a difference at numerous organizations for a variety of causes with "done in a day" projects.

We believe that education, income and health are the foundation for a good life. Education is essential to getting and keeping a job. Income is important for economic stability. Good health is critical for everyone. United Way of Pierce County is focused on these critical issues. We're working to build lasting opportunities for a good life for all who live in our community.
