The position supports Suited for a Success, a program of Phoenix Housing Network that provided assistance to low income women transitioning to self-sufficiency. Clients who are referred to the agency or who attend the weekly Suited for Success workshops are invited to choose free interview or work clothing.
Working under the direction of Suited for Success staff, the Clothing Maintenance assistant assures that the quality of the clothing in the boutique is dependable and all selections are in good repair. Clothing in the boutique is donated by women in the community, and items often need attention to assure clients will have acceptable choices when they choose their interview or work ensembles. Work can be done an a flexible schedule.
Duties include:
- Assisting staff at the boutique to maintain clothing and client gifts in an attractive manner and in good condition.
- Assisting staff in sorting clothing according to several levels of use.
- Laundering, steaming and refreshing clothing as needed. Equipment is available at Suited for Success for this work.
- Ticketing clothing according to size.
- Transferring clothing into the boutique.
