PIERCE COUNTY
As of today, local, county, and state governments continue to respond to the flooding and are beginning the process of damage assessment. Clean-up has begun in jurisdictions where the water has receded enough to do so, but in many places displaced individuals and families have not been able to get back to their homes. Once folks are able to report their losses, various agencies will know better what the needs are and can begin meeting those needs.
At the moment there is not a lot of information available regarding what volunteers are needed to do. We are sure that many volunteers will be needed in the coming days and weeks. If you live in the Pierce County area and would like to assist in the long term recovery process, please consider being a part of the Associated Ministries' Care Team program (http://www.associatedministries.org/pages/disaster_response.htm).
