The Channel Islands YMCA is a charitable association providing programs based upon Christian principles to men, women, and children of all races, religious beliefs and economic status to develop and enrich the spirit, mind, and body.
Description:
We are a branch of the Channel Islands YMCA Association. We provide youth programs such as swim lessons, Kung fu, Itty Bitty sports, day camp, resident camp, and afterschool childcare. We also have a full facility featuring an indoor 6 lane, 25 yd swimming pool, Atlantis fixed weight machines, free weights, an assortment of cardio equipment and a full schedule of aerobics classes available. It is the policy of the YMCA to assist in providing services for any person who desires to participate regardless of ability to pay the standard fee. Financial assistance is available to those demonstrating a need through an application process. This assistance is made possible by the YMCA’s annual Campaign for Youth program.
History:
Our YMCA has been in the valley since 1989. We started out offering 2 programs. We have been at our current facility since August of 2002 and now service 1 in 4 members of our community through our programs and membership.
