Canalino Elementary

Canalino School is located on a spacious campus in the Carpinteria Valley. There are 560 Kindergarten through sixth grade students. The students are taught by twenty-four highly qualified teachers, three Special Education teachers, a fully credentialed Computer Lab teacher, Intervention teacher, Migrant teacher, instrumental music teacher, and arts coaches. Thirteen highly-qualified Instructional Assistants work closely with each of the teachers to increase student learning through small group instruction. Americorps tutors provide interventions for identified students. Enrichment is offered after school by teachers and community members. The Canalino staff works closely together to provide the highest quality, differentiated core curriculum to all students. The collaborative staff strives to direct instruction for each level of learners to be able to feel motivated and secure in all their academic areas. The Canalino library offers a wonderful variety of reading materials to enrich reading for pleasure at each grade level. Two computers labs offer all students skills in keyboarding, power point, and research. The After School program is supported by a Diabetes Resource Center grant, and provides a wealth of assistance and enrichment activities to students, including gardening, sports, arts, and dancing. The Puentes Healthy Start Family Advocate is a resource for families in Carpinteria. Parent and Community volunteers are an important asset to Canalino School , and offer regular assistance to students in class or to small groups. The Canalino parent support groups provide field trips for all classes, including a 6th grade three-night science camp experience.

La Escuela Canalino se encuentra el Valle de Carpintería. La populación estudiantil es del alrededor de 560 estudiantes el los grados de Kinder a Sexto. La Escuela cuenta con viento-cuatro altamente calificadas Maestras, tres Maestras de Educación Especial, una Maestra con credencial para el Laboratorio de Computadoras, una Maestra de Intervención, una Maestra del Programa Migrante, un Maestro de Música Instrumental, e instructores de las Artes. Además la Escuela cuenta con trece altamente calificadas Asistentes de Maestras que trabajan con cada una de las Maestras para incrementar el aprendizaje del estudiante por medio de instrucción en grupos pequeños. Tutores del grupo Americorps proveen intervención para esos estudiantes que califican. Enriquecimiento educativo se ofrece después del día escolar por Maestras y miembros de la comunidad. El personal de la Escuela Canalino trabaja juntos para proveer la más alta calidad de currículum para los estudiantes. El personal colorativa mente se esfuerza para proveer instrucción para cada nivel de aprendizaje que los estudiantes requieran para motivarlos y hacerlos sentirse confinantes in las áreas académicas. La biblioteca de las Escuela Canalino ofrece una variedad de materiales de lectura para enriquecer el placer de la lectura según el grado del estudiante. Dos laboratorios de computadoras permiten a todos los estudiantes desarrollar sus conocimientos del teclado, programas relaciones a la computadora y poder encontrar información informativa. El Programa Después de la Escuela es patrocinado por una beca del Centro de recurso para la Diabetes y provee asistencia y actividades educativas para los estudiantes, incluyendo actividades en el jardín, deportes, las artes, y baile. Contamos con un representante del Programa Puentes que ofrece recursos para las familias en Carpintería. Padres y Voluntarios de la Comunidad son un valuable recuso para la Escuela Canalino, ofrecen asistencia a los estudiantes en los salones y en grupos pequeños. El Grupo Padres para Canalino ayuda con excursiones, incluyendo una excursión para los estudiantes de sexto grado que van a un campamiento de ciencia por tres noches.
