Our mission statement is: 1)to offer comprehensive health & social services, counseling, care, education & advocacy to anyone at risk for, infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS, and 2) to provide sociocultural services sensitive to the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.
Description:
With offices in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, Pacific Pride is a strong, respected leader providing high quality, compassionate health and social services programs not available through any other organization in the county. All our programs and services are available in both English and Spanish and are free. Services include two food pantries, case management, counseling and recovery services, anonymous HIV testing and HIV education and prevention outreach. In addition we reach over 12,000 more people through our HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention Outreach Program. Pacific Pride is also the local expert on issues relating to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in Santa Barbara County.
History:
In 1984 Pacific Pride began developing and implementing services to respond locally to the AIDS pandemic. Today we're the largest service provider between L.A. and San Francisco that helps men, women and children living with, affected by, or at risk of HIV and AIDS. Last year we provided services to over 540 men, women and children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Since 1975 our agency has been the local expert on issues relating to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Santa Barbara County. Last year we provided services to over 750 lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and adults.

Lunch Bunch, the lunchtime mentoring program at each of United Way's Fun in the Sun sites, is showered with wonderful volunteers every summer who lend their time in making a difference. This year, we are highlighting some of the groups who really know what it means to be an Outstanding Lunch Bunch!
