Montecito Exercises Emergency Evacuation Plan

| The Montecito Emergency Response & Recovery Action Group (MERRAG) is an official volunteer auxiliary of Montecito’s three public service agencies. MERRAG exists to provide crucial personnel and communications support in the event of a community emergency. April 26, 2008 MERRAG will be having a functional evacuation drill on the West end of the Montecito community. The purpose of the drill is to: Test Alerting System, Evaluate effectiveness of notification methods; Train & educate the public with the ability to safely evacuate in an emergency and; Establish agency coordination. A myriad of MERRAG volunteers will be needed for various functions before and during and after the drill.
