AARP Tax-Aide
To provide high quality free income tax assistance and tax form preparation to low and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older.
Description:
Tax-Aide is a nationwide program than provides training in conjunction with IRS to volunteers who provide tax return preparation assistance and free electronic filing of returns. A volunteer-run program, Regional and state volunteers share in setting policies while assuming most supervisory and operation responsibilities. Volunteer Counselors provide all service level tax assistance and are supported by local, district and State Coordinators who in turn are assisted by volunteer specialists in administration, communications, training and computer operations. Most assistance is provided at donated facilities in Senior Centers, libraries and other public facilities.
