Our mission is to strengthen the community through counseling, education, and support to children, youth, adults and families in North King County and South Snohomish County.
Description:
We have 3 core programs: Family Counseling, Substance Abuse for Youth & Adults, and 2 Family Support Centers. Family Counseling offers services for both individuals and groups. The Substance Abuse program offers intensive outpatient groups, recovery groups,and one-on-one counseling. The Family Centers offer ESL classes, parenting classes, citizenship classes, parent/child interaction groups, and resource files. They also provide free childcare for parents while in class.
History:
The Center for Human Services, a private non-profit agency, has been a resource for the community since 1970. CHS delivers quality programming to over 10,000 individuals per year. It was formed in January 1982 as a result of a merger between the Creative Life Foundation and Shoreline Youth Services. The agency currently holds a permanent Washington State Charitable Organization Registration Certificate and is a public benefit nonprofit, with IRC Section 501(c)(3) tax status.
