Volunteer Opportunity Details:

If you like a bargain, this is the double coupon day of volunteerism! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 5:50 pm and 8:10 pm, the infants and toddlers and children up to 5 years old come together in the playroom with community volunteers for storytime, free play, fun and fruit rolls. Just a little over two hours of your time and love gives the little ones a chance to be cared for by another loving influence (you!) while their mothers receive the gift of being free to learn, share and take care of themselves in AWARE's educational and group meetings - a doubly generous offering - everybody wins!

Background checks, fingerprinting (at AWARE), an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator are required before volunteer participation. The AWARE Volunteer Training offered twice a year is required for all volunteers at AWARE to take within the first year of volunteering. Volunteers beginning now can take the training this September/October or in April of 2010. Warm, friendly, child-respectful people welcomed!
