Family Support Center Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 31, 2009

Volunteer opportunities for the Family Support Center may vary depending on the level of experience and interest of the Volunteer. Opportunities include but are not limited to assisting the Play Room Teacher in the age appropriate playrooms. The playroom is used by children while their parents are in the building, meeting with staff, in a class or utilizing one of the Drop-In Center services. Volunteers are also helpful in the Donation Room. Incoming donations which may include clothing, baby equiptment, books, small household items, etc., are sorted and made available for clients to choose from. Depending on skill level, volunteers may assist Agency Programs with computer projects; including data entry or developing or fixing databases for inputting program information. Volunteers may also be utilized for the beautification of the agency, including painting, art work and minor maintanance. Volunteers with hobby, arts and crafts or a special skill or interest may be usted to facilitate a group or workshop.

Depending on the interest of the volunteer, there may not be any specific requirements. However, due to confidentiality guidelines and practices, there might be certain limitations.
