Are you interested in becoming more involved in your community? The Riverfront Children’s Center is seeking candidates for our Governing Board. Riverfront is seeking individuals with an interest in children, early education and non-profit service who would like to know more about joining Riverfront’s Governing Board. The Riverfront Children’s Center is celebrating twenty-five years of service to the children and families of Southeastern Connecticut. We provide full time, high quality childcare and early education to the children of local working families who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Nearly one hundred children attend childcare, pre-school, pre-K and before and after school programs at the Center each day. We touch many more through our outreach programs to families –workshops focusing on family literacy, nutrition, and parenting skills; our on-site Family Resource Room, which provides children’s clothing and emergency food supplies; and family fun nights. Board members guide Riverfront’s current and future programs, policies and finances through attendance at monthly meetings and committee service as requested by the Board President. Members support and promote Riverfront in the community, and participate actively in the Center’s activities and fund raising events whenever possible. To find out more about the Riverfront Children’s Center and Governing Board or other volunteer opportunities, please contact our Director, Susan Corrice, at 860-445-8151 or suecorrice@comcast.net.
