The Dr. Albert B. Cleage, Sr. Memorial Health Center (ABCMHC) is devoted to providing FREE focused, skilled, compassionate and committed health care to uninsured and under-insured residents of Detroit and SE Michigan.

Description:
Our FREE clinic provides MD appointments, health screenings,a prescription assistance program, diabetic education classes, a smoking cessation program, patient education (one-on-one and classes,) minimal cost lab work and weight management assistance.

History:
Our clinic began as a health initiative of the Shrines of the Black Madonna of the Pan-African Orthodox Christian Church to address the needs of uninsured and under-insured Detroiters. We consider ourselves to be a "safety net" for the "safety net" provided by community health centers who charge a sliding scale fee for services. We have found that many uninsured patients put off or do without preventative healthcare
due to the inability to pay even the minimal costs required by the sliding scale fee system.
