Blight Busters founding mission was "to stabilize and revitalize the neighborhoods of northwest Detroit".
Description:
Motor City Blight Busters is a non-profit community housing development organization. Blight Busters facilitates between 7-10,000 volunteers annually. Activities include neighborhood stabilization and beautification projects, housing renovation, new construction, economic development projects, housing counseling, and education programs for at-risk youth.
History:
Blight Busters was founded in 1988 with the mission and goal to stabilize and revitalize the neighborhoods of northwest Detroit. Since that time Blight Busters has renovated over 150 homes, helped to build 106 new homes, demolished over 90 vacant,abandoned structures by hand using volunteers, and completed hundreds of stabilization projects.
