Description:
The Alzheimer's Association is the first and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments, and an eventual cure for Alzheimer's. For more than 25 years, the Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes. Headquartered in Chelsea, the Michigan Great Lakes Chapter has regional offices in Kalamazoo, Lansing and Muskegon. The chapter serves a 23-county region of Michigan with an estimated 44,000 people with Alzheimer’s disease. The Association offers a wealth of community programs and services designed to meet the needs of those with Alzheimer's, family members, care partners and the public. More than 500 volunteers contribute their time and talent each year in program services, advocacy, fund-raising to support programs and research, and in operational support.
