Mission Statement: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Description:
Clients may receive food, shelter, help with rent, utility shut-offs, prescriptions, transportation, clothing, household items and various kinds of other emergency assistance based on our social workers' assessments. Our calling is to help change lives, not just meet needs.

History:
The Salvation Army has been providing emergency services in Washtenaw County for more than 100 years covering a wide range of needs. We have offices in Ypsilanti (9 S. Park), Ann Arbor (100 Arbana), and run a 90-day shelter program (Staples Family Center as well.
