Community Housing Network is seeking two volunteers to assist us in our Housing Resource Center. The Housing Specialist will field incoming phone calls from people with diverse situations and housing needs, and provide referral and resource options. The Program Specialist will conduct phone interviews with prospective program participants to determine housing program eligibility. The ideal volunteer will possess customer service experience and skills, and outstanding phone skills. Those who are on a mission to help others and can maintain a calm presence while dealing with people in crisis will be most successful. Both of these positions require a minimum 16 hour per week commitment, and could be up to a 40 hour per week opportunity for volunteers who have the time to be more involved. We offer an opportunity to provide meaningful help to people in true need, while working with a very talented, fun, and engaging staff. If you are interested in either of these positions, please send an email to cjfelton@chninc.net (no calls please) and include the following items: • Resume (if available) • Cover letter explaining why you are interested, what you bring to us, and what you hope to gain from your experience here.
