Volunteer Income Tax Assistance - Make A Difference In The Lives Of Low-Income Families!
We need volunteers to prepare taxes for low-moderate income individuals and families throughout southeastern Michigan. It is only with the help of our volunteers that we can make our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites successful. We ask that all potential volunteers can commit their time from January - April(the tax season), approximately four hours a week. Free training will be provided. The only qualifications that we require of our volunteers is a willingness to help! Previous tax knowledge is helpful, but is not required. Also basic computer knowledge is a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for college students, retirees, and people like you working towards the common good! If you belong to any kind of social organization this would be a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as a group! For more information on how you can make a difference in the lives of low income families by becoming a Income Tax Assistance volunteer, contact Doris Hendricks at 313-226-9280 or Doris.Hendricks@LiveUnitedSEM.org
