EMPLOYMENT SECURITY DIVISION – To provide labor exchange services to job seekers and employers so that individuals can be placed in stable, unsubsidized employment and contribute to the economy; and to administer and employee-funded temporary assistance program to those who are newly unemployed through no fault of their own.

HUMAN RIGHTS – To serve employers, employees and the public by educating them on state and federal laws related to unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, credit and public accommodations.

LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL – To accept complaints of nonpayment of wages, issue wage rates fro public works projects and enforce child labor and apprenticeship laws; and to resolve complaints through medication, administrative hearings, and set wage rates for public works projects managed throughout the State of New Mexico.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND SUPPORT – To provide administrative, fiscal, technical and legal assistance to all programs identified by the Department of Labor so that they may be developed and administered in the most effective and fair manner and to ensure fiscal integrity, legal compliance and accountability.

LABOR MARKET INFORMATION – To assist government and private sector policymakers with statistical and narrative information on the condition of the labor force, including employment, employment by sector, employment growth, wage rates, layoff events, to assist job seekers by providing information on pattern of occupational growth and decline; and to provide employers with information on wage rates by occupation.

Description:
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions provides assistance in the following areas: career counseling, job referrals, lists of State, Federal and Private jobs in a notebook on the lobby table, work search skills workshop, resource center, WorkKeys assessment, labor market assessment.

In addition following assistance programs are available: Unemployment insurance, customer service line, work experience, on-the-job training, classroom training, alien labor certification, apprenticeship program, federal bonding, migrant seasonal farm workers, TAA and NAFTA programs, veteran services, benefits and services from WIA partner agencies.

On line services include: JOB REFERRAL SERVICES – register on-line for employment services, New Mexico’s job bank (all the job orders we receive), America’s job bank (all our job orders plus those from other states), links to other job hunting related websites; CAREER EXPLORATION LINKS – career prospects system, Career One Stop, Career Info Net, Employability Check Up; – LABOR MARKET INFORMATION, PUBLICATION – Job Hunter’s Guide, Prospects (a career exploration and job hunting guide for high school graduations, job search tips, and wage information – Estimate Delivery System.
