Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande
Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande will serve an ever-increasing, diverse membership through educational programs that promote patriotism, community involvement, healthy relationships and strong values.
Description:
Girl Scouts is the world's pre-eminent organization committed to girls, where in an open and nurturing environment, girls acquire tools for success in the real world. Tools that will serve them all their lives - like strong values, self-esteem, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.
In partnership with dedicated adult volunteers, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. The experiences provided by Girl Scouts help them grow confident, courageous and strong. Our program incorporates activities from seven areas of focus for a well-rounded experience: Life Skills, Healthy Mind-Healthy Body, Community Service, Human Relations, Leadership Development, Outdoor Experience, and Arts and Humanities.
Membership is open to all girls - regardless of racial, ethnic, religious or socioeconomic backgrounds - between the ages of five and 17, who make the Girl Scout Promise, accept the Girl Scout Law, and pay annual membership dues of ten dollars or apply for financial assistance.
Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande continues to reach out to every girl, everywhere by implementing innovative new programs and approaches, always keeping the GIRL first in Girl Scouting. Our outreach efforts include programs in partnership with schools, housing authority communities, homeless shelters, rehabilitation facilities, and universities, to name a few. Caring adult volunteers are the backbone of our success, serving as leaders, mentors, presenters, sponsors, and role models for the girls we see as our leaders of tomorrow.
