The mission of Adult Education is to provide comprehensive adult education instruction and support services in a learner centered, supportive and collaborative environment to enhance quality of life that leads to life-long learning, civic participation, and personal success. Description:
Programs offered by the Adult Basic Education Program: • English as a Second Language (ESL) at different levels • GED (high school equivalency diploma) • U.S. citizenship preparation, basic skills • Basic English and first-language Spanish literacy ABE tutorial and student support services include: • Advising • Small group and individualized tutoring services • New student orientation and goal setting • Pre-testing and information • Referral services.
History:
The ABE program offers English as a Second Language (ESL), GED (high school equivalency diploma), US citizenship preparation, basic skills, basic computer literacy, practical living and work skills, and literacy. The ABE program works together with public schools, business and industry, and public and social service agencies to provide on-site basic education or workplace literacy training.
