LCDF - Healthy Start Program
The mission of the LCDF - Healthy Start Program is two fold. It is designed to address challenges in service systems as well as strengthen individuals and families. Therefore, our mission is to create an integrated system of health care to strengthen parents (including parenting teens) and their children by providing access to a broad array of services and supports.
Description:
LCDF - Healthy Start Program provides a broad range of social services to infants/toddlers, school age children/adolescents, women, men, and families. Services provided by the program include:
- Case management to pregnant women (including teens)
- Home visitation
- Infant mental health
- Parenting families
- Health education (prenatal, nutrition, smoking cessation, teen pregnancy prevention, parenting,etc)
- Individual, family and group counseling
- Life skills
- Anger management
History:
The Healthy Start Program is a component of La Clinica de Familia (LCDF). La Clinica de Familia has over 25 years of providing medical, dental and social services in Doña Ana County. The Healthy Start Program integrated with Adolescent Family Life, Health Education, Male Involvement and Early Head Start Programs to improve maternal, child and family health services in our community.
