Vision:Creating a world without Alzheimer's disease, while optimizing quality of life for individuals and their families. Mission: To provide leadership to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research for individuals and their families.
Description:
We provide free information regarding Alzheimer's Disease to the patient, family, and caregivers including a Resource Directory for available services in the community. We also provide a free lending library of books and videos for families and caregivers. We provide a Respite Care Financial Assistance Program for primary caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. We support the Safe Return Program and Project Lifesaver programs, both of which are wandering programs for the memory impaired. We provide support groups for families and caregivers. We provide educational programs and caregiver training programs for agencies, facilities, organizations and conferences.
History:
The Albuquerque Chapter was established in 1987 and later became the New Mexico Chapter. The Las Cruces Branch established in 1998, followed by branches in Roswell, Farmington, and Las Vegas, N.M.
