Asombro Institute For Science Education
The Asombro Institute for Science Education (home of the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park) is dedicated to increasing scientific literacy by fostering an understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert.
Description:
We are a member based organization reaching more than 13,000 kindergarten through 12th grade students and more than 5,000 adults in southern New Mexico and western Texas through our school programs, public outreach, and education workshops.
History:
We were founded as a grassroots organization in the early 1990's. We have grown to a membership base spanning numerous states and a foreign country.
Last year we had more than 200 volunteers donate more than 2,500 hours preforming education programs, site development and maintenance, administrative duties, and outreach programs.
