The mission of the City of Las Cruces Museum System is to promote understanding and appreciation of local history, culture, arts, and the science of natural history through an ongoing exchange of ideas and information. Our goal is to provide high quality, multi-cultural exhibitions and educational programs that fulfill our missions and enrich the lives of our citizens.

Description:
The Las Cruces Museum of Art is dedicated to providing the public with quality exhibitions, educational programming, and community outreach. Exhibits in the main gallery change several times a year. In addition to exhibits, the museum offers affordable, quality art programs for students age four to adult in drawing, painting, ceramics, weaving, photography and mixed media

The Branigan Cultural Center has as its focus the history and culture of the region. The BCC is comprised of several small galleries and the larger Shannon Room, which is a temporary exhibition gallery and performance hall. Permanent and changing exhibitions and educational programming provide insight into the region's interesting past and lively present.

The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History is dedicated to broadening people's understanding of natural history, science, and the environment of the Chihuahuan Desert. The LCMNH offers exhibits and educational programs geared towards this mission. The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center houses more than 40 live animals from our area.

Located in the historic 1910 Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Depot, The Las Cruces Railroad Museum offers exhibits about local history, railroadiana, and model layouts. The museum offers a wide variety of learning opportunities for students including an understanding of the impact of the railroad on daily life in Las Cruces, and Operation Lifesaver.
