Literacy Volunteers Of Dona Ana County
In 1984, Literacy Volunteers of Doña Ana County (LV-DAC) was founded as a community response to local needs. Our non-profit organization utilizes trained volunteers to provide FREE one-on-one tutoring to adults who want to improve their basic reading, writing, math, or English language skills.
Description:
We give preference to the least educated. Instruction is individualized and based on the real-life needs of adult learners. LV-DAC has tutoring sites throughout Doña Ana County, and our services are FREE to both the learners and the volunteers. LV-DAC works closely with local, state, and national adult education partners. We partner with the Adult Education Division at Doña Ana Community College. LV-DAC is accredited by ProLiteracy America, and is a member of the statewide New Mexico Coalition for Literacy. LV-DAC is funded in part by Adult Education of DACC, and operating grants from the New Mexico Coalition for Literacy, community sponsors like Hastings Bookstore, and individual donors like you.
