Incarcerated Fathers Program (IFP) |
| Description : |
|
Promoting responsible fatherhood through intensive parenting classes enhanced with life skills and domestic violence prevention education. Class sessions focus on key parenting concepts such as age-appropriate expectations, parent/child bonding, parenting roles, and healthy family communication. Program is based at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility. Extensive family outreach activities include: Individualized child-focused projects are mailed to the children and educational materials are sent to the parenting partner. Enhanced family visitation with structured activities. Informational newsletters delivered to all participating families and New Mexico Cooperative Extension Service offices. Community-based referrals.

Classes are conducted within correctional institutions and class times will vary. The SFI office is open from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday |
| Eligibility Requirements: |

Father must be incarcerated and their participation is entirely voluntary. |
