Program name: Work Trade Community Supported Agriculture
Description : In this work/trade community supported agriculture program, no money is exchanged. Participants who work for as little as 5 hours per month in our garden (Fairlight Community Gardens) receive a box of vegetables each week. These fresh, in season vegetables are grown in our garden without the use of pesticides or other chemicals. Participants will help with watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, and other garden tasks as determined by the garden coordinator.
Hours of Operation: Wednesdays and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Eligibility Requirements: Participants must be low income eligible as determined by the Casa de Peregrinos' Food Bank requirements.
Intake Procedure: Casa de Peregrinos Food Bank or the Fairlight Community Gardens Coordinator will determine low income eligibility. Participants will sign a contract committing to work in the garden,in exchange for the garden's produce.
