Services include health education/risk reduction programs to at-risk populations, which include women, men having sex with men, youth, injection drug users, other substance abusers, and incarcerated and migrant workers and their families. FYI utilizes peer educators to conduct street outreach to high-risk individuals in both rural and urban settings. Peers also function to sustain healthy behavior change of clients. This program has certified staff to train teachers, health care providers, and other organizations in HIV/STD prevention and sexuality issues. FYI facilitates groups for gay men, women, and youth. The AIDS Program houses the syringe exchange program, which targets the injection drug user population.
