Young Fathers Program
General Information
Agency: New Mexico Young Fathers Program
Program name: Young Fathers Program
Description : The New Mexico Young Fathers Program is a Case Management Program and a Fatherhood Advocate. Through agency referrals and community outreach we provide information to Young Dads on the services available. Through group sessions and individual mentoring we strive to provide them the life skills needed for self empowerment so that they may be able to undertake the responsibility of providing emotional and financial stability to their child. The majority of the clients that we work with are considered "At Risk". Many are not able to see their child because of certain obstacles associated with teen fatherhood and we provide information on how to navigate the legal bureaucratic systems and how to increase their educational levels and improve employability. So, in a nutshell we try to provide as much help as we can and are constantly striving to improve our services and outreach. A drop-in support group is facilitated on Wednesdays at 5:30 at 1494 S. Solano Dr., Suite A. Dads 101 is on scheduled Saturdays by appointment.
