Idaho Center For Assistive Technology
ICAT provides assistive technology devices and services to the entire state of Idaho. Our certified A.T. Professionals provide assessment and consultation on special equipment needs of any person of any age with any disability, within the scope of our expertise.
Description:
We maintain a large loaning library of specially adapted toys and devices for disabled or special needs children and adults. We also assist in the selection of devices for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We go into schools and onto job sites, farms, ranches, and homes to provide specific recommendations for technology and modifications to solve the everyday access problems that special needs individuals face in schools, on their jobs, and at home. We are a certified technology site for Microsoft and have a public computer laboratory.
History:
Our parent organization was United Cerebral Palsy, with whom we affiliated for 15 years. The name has become an impediment to persons who do not have CP finding us, so this year we have disaffiliated from UCP to become the Idaho Center for Assistive Technology. Our services are the same as they were under the old name.
