Our Mission: To offer Idaho students k14 grade the opportunity to enhance their education through the use of technology at home. Students apply for a computer and we build one for them so all students can have a computer at home to enhance their education.
Description: CFK donate computers to students for use at home. We accept donations of computers and refurbish them- wipe the hard drives and load a new operating system, and other equipment is added per a students application request. We use volunteers to clean and sort donations. When computers are complete we hold a distribution event at the warehouse where all the students come to pick up their computers. It's usually on a Friday night where we utilize volunteers also to manage people and paperwork. It's fun and very rewarding to give computers to children that don't have one. We travel the State of Idaho to distribute computers in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, and Lewiston. We can use volunteers in those communities when we visit once a year in the Spring and Summer months.
History: We donated over 10,000 computers to Idaho students since 2002 when CFK was founded.
