Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on May 27, 2009

Visitor Information Center volunteers play an important role as ambassadors for Boise – meeting and greeting interesting people from all over the world and from our own community.

Boise has two conveniently-located Visitor Information Centers, downtown on the Grove and on Vista Ave., which maintain a library of maps and promotional material on Boise’s many attractions, hotels, restaurants, shops, the arts, sightseeing, nightlife, special events and more (so you don’t have to be a walking encyclopedia to be a volunteer). Volunteers give directions (resources are provided), answer questions (we provide you with the answers), and recommend things visitors can do while visiting the area. Training is provided and volunteers participate in regular tours of the region and networking with other volunteers.

Be a part of the excitement of tourism! New volunteers are always welcome to join our enthusiastic, fun and friendly team. Volunteers can contribute a few hours, once a week or more. One 3½-hour shift (9:00am - 12:30pm) is currently available on Thursday mornings at our Vista Center – 1222 Vista Ave. (near Kootenai). Share a shift with your partner or friend – and have a great time while serving your community!

For more information or to sign up for our ongoing volunteer program, call Anne Chambers at (208) 344-7777.

This is a fun and interesting job with limited training necessary. We provide all the promotional material for answering questions and helping visitors enjoy their stay in Boise, i.e., maps, visitor guides, brochures, calendar of events, etc. No special skills are required; anyone (at any age) who enjoys meeting people will love this job.
