Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on June 18, 2009 |
Volunteers are needed to provide non-medical support and company for hospice patients, their caregivers (often times a spouse or family member) and their immediate family. We need volunteers to read aloud, just visiting, giving caregivers a much needed break to go to a doctors appointment, get a hair cut, go to the store, making crafts such as special occasion cards, or baking goodies. Also for the gardener at heart, we have patients who would love for someone to pull weeds and plant some flowers in their yards. There is no limit to the caring service you can contribute to help make a patient's final days special and meaningful. Volunteer Orientation is provided and ongoing training in our office with our Volunteer Coordinator. Must be 18 years of age, hold a valid drivers license w/automobile insurance. Must have a clear background check. Volunteers will be reimbursed for the travel mileage.
