Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on June 23, 2009

The City of Caldwell hosts or sponsors several events throughout the year. Volunteers are welcome and needed for each and all events. Each event has several pre-event activities from graphics, sponsors, vendors, scheduling, coordinating and imagining new and special ideas.

From now until the end of 2009 the events include:

Friday Night Express
Held on the first Friday of June July and August at the Depot Plaza from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Four hours of entertainment, food, drinks and other vendors bring out 500-1000 people for a great family oriented evening.

Indian Creek Festival runs from 9am to 6pm on September 19th. Eight blocks of downtown Caldwell becomes the scene of the largest festival in the area with over 5000 people attending the Festival. Two main stages are alive with continuous entertainment with bands, dancers, and performers from all over the Valley. 50-60 vendors provide a wide variety of food, products and information. Children of all ages join with volunteers in the large children's area for crafts, educational activities and fun things.

The highlights of the day include a cardboard Kayak race down Indian Creek, a Tug of War with each group on opposite sides of the Creek, and a Rubber Duck Race with $1000 in prizes. Volunteers are needed before and during the Festival.

Winter Wonderland
A light display at the Historic Caldwell Train Depot and along Indian Creek. The lighting of Winter Wonderland will occur on November 20 and will feature a Winter Festival as well as the lighting of Wonderland. We would like volunteers to prepare the lighting and displays beginning around the first of October.

Volunteers for all of the City of Caldwell events may be any of a dozen activities. We need help in the planning and organizing of the events, then on the day of the event, assistance in setting up the venue (and taking it down), directing traffic, answering questions, etc. One of the benefits of volunteering for events is that it can be pretty much activities the volunteer looks to enjoy, it may be ongoing or event specific, may be mental or manual, private or with a group.
