You are part of the Red Cross mission to provide life-saving blood to your community. Your job is to create a climate in which donors feel welcomed and valued. In addition, you will be encouraging donors by providing educational facts. Volunteers in this position must stay alert to the needs of the donors and provide assistance in the event of post-donation reactions, as well as serve refreshments and thank them for donating. Volunteers must have a warm, friendly and gracious manner with a desire to help others. Good communication and customer service skills along with the ability to listen are also essential.
