Volunteer Opportunity Details: Last updated on August 16, 2009 Volunteers needed to go out to our public school systems and teach children about humane practices towards our animal friends. It is an educational practice called Humane Education, and involves classroom time as well as hands on techniques. A great way to help children and some adults! This program is sponsored by the Wayne County Humane Society. No formal education is needed, just a desire to work with children and animals. Training is involved, but you will be provided with the materials to work with. We would like to be ready for the next school year, with the person volunteering anywhere from 1 day a week to 2 times a month.
