Days Of Caring ![]() |
| United Way of Wayne County and Volunteer Wayne/RSVP are partnering once again for the 2007 Days of Caring. We ask that everyone across Wayne County put their own cares on hold for part of one day during September 14-22, and work together to improve the lives of others in our community.
We aim to showcase all the good works accomplished by United Way agencies and invite other non-profit agencies in Wayne County to participate. Non-profits submit a project or projects and list needed supplies for project completion. It may take a couple of pails of paint or coordination of special equipment like a crane. The Days of Caring Committee is willing to bring together those that have with those that need. We can't promise that every project will be completed, but listing early will maximize your chances for a good match. Suggested date for project submission is August 14, 2007. Anyone can help! Last year, businesses, government, civic groups, churches, schools, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and individuals all pitched in. The results - over 4,000 individuals were helped during Days of Caring by the over 1,200 volunteers! Make sure to tell Volunteer Wayne/RSVP about your project so we can count you in the event's success. And we will be letting the media know where to go to spotlight all the good works. Join us for the kickoff for Days of Caring on September 14 at 8:30 in front of the Court House facing Walnut St. A brief ceremony with music and community leaders will give the volunteers a good send off ...following light refreshments of course! |
