Plainville Day Care Center

Our goal is to expose children to a variety of social, cultural and educational experiences as well as physical activities, designed to promote all areas of development in a warm, loving, and caring atmosphere where they can feel happy and secure. Giving them confidence to explore their world and learn skills is an essential goal of the Center.

Description:
Plainville Day Care Center is licensed by the State Department of Public Health. We are accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children. We provide quality care and education in our Preschool, Nursery and School age Programs. We offer a sliding scale fee based on the family size and income. We participate in the Child & Adult Day Care Center Food Program, a federal program that provides healthy meals and snacks to children receiving childcare. We are located at 130 West Main Street in Plainville. We are open year round and our hours of operation are 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM.

History:
Plainville Day Care Center, Inc. is a not for profit corporation which was established by a group of town residents in 1969 to provide quality childcare. The Center opened in September of 1970. A Board of Directors consisting of community members and parent representatives oversee the operation of the Center. Board meetings are held at the Center, 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month. The Board delegates daily operation of the program to a full time Director. The program is financed by parent fees which are set on a sliding scale and grants from the State of Connecticut, the Town of Plainville and the United Way. Those funds are supplemented through fund raising and donations from individuals, community foundations, civic groups and businesses.
