Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on June 29, 2009 |
We are always looking for volunteers who want to make a positive difference in the life of a child. We are especially in need of male volunteers. Our one-to-one mentoring has a significant impact in the lives of the youth we serve. Research consistently demonstrates that Big Brothers Big Sisters' mentoring helps at-risk youth overcome the many challenges they face. The most compelling evidence was found by Public/Private Ventures (P/PV), showing that Little Brothers and Little Sisters are: 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs 27% less likely to begin using alcohol 52% less likely to skip school 37% less likely to skip class more confident in their school work performance able to get along better with their families.
We have an interview process which includes a background check. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age. We ask that you commit to giving at least 1-2 hours a week to your Little. This opportunity is sponsored by: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County
