SEEDS COMMUNITY RESOLUTION CENTER (SEEDS) is a community-based nonprofit organization with a small, enthusiastic staff supported by 200 trained volunteers of all ages and walks of life. We offer low cost mediation, facilitation, and training services throughout Alameda County.

Description:
SEEDS provides conflict management and prevention services aiming to facilitate constructive dialogue and fostering non-adversarial communication and decision making processes.

We offer affordable mediation, facilitation, training, and conflict consultation services in a wide variety of situations. Examples include family, neighbor, landlord-tenant, or work-place concerns, as well as neighborhood conflicts, such as land-use and development, traffic, zoning or building plans.
SEEDS serves individuals, families, community organizations, government agencies, and small businesses throughout Alameda County.

History:
SEEDS Community Resolution Center, formerly East Bay Community Mediation, was formed by the union of three agencies: Conciliation Forums of Oakland (CFO), Berkeley Dispute Resolution Service (BDRS) and Mediation Services in Castro Valley, Hayward, Fremont. We have served diverse communities throughout Alameda County for over 25 years.
Between our three root programs, SEEDS has served over 30,0000 people in Alameda County. CFO was an early pioneer in bringing student peer mediation programs to schools in Alameda County, as well as developing unique parent-teen mediation services where adult and teen mediators partnered to mediate family disputes. BDRS, in partnership with CFO, created a model training program for community-oriented police officers that has been replicated nationwide. Mediation Services developed strong programs servicing the needs of small businesses, real estate and landlords and tenants in South County. All three agencies has core neighborhood programs mediating a wide range of disputes that can arise in the community. CFO and BDRS merged in 2004 to become East Bay Community Mediation. Mediation Services was integrated in 2007 and as a result of our expanded programs, and renewed mission, we adopted SEEDS Community Resolution Center as our new name in 2008.
