Family Resource Centers Mission Statement: “Through community organizing we build on the strengths of the individuals, families, providers thereby building a community group focused on improving the quality of life for all.”
Description:
Fighting Back Partnership (FBP), founded in 1989, is a non-profit agency that partners with businesses, residents, community organizations, and local governments to improve neighborhoods, strengthen families, and support youth development to create safe, healthy and thriving communities.
History:
Fighting Back Partnership (FBP) has several community initiatives, including the Family Resource Center Program. The Family Resource Center Program provides community-based support to families and their children, with a focus on low-income families struggling to attain self-sufficiency and improved health status. The Family Resource Center Program works with larger institutions, including local government, municipal health and human services, and community-based organizations to raise local capacity, reduce duplication of efforts, and advocate for families and children. Fighting Back Partnership’s Family Resource Program includes three centers located in Vallejo’s most economically and socially impacted neighborhoods. The program exists independently yet is closely coordinated with Solano County’s six other Family Resource Centers in Benicia, Fairfield/Suisun, Dixon, Rio Vista and Vacaville. Since 2003, Fighting Back Partnership’s Family Resource Center Program has served 2,054 families in Vallejo.
