Dublin Senior Center

Our vision is, "creating rewarding friendships, intriguing activities and a lifestyle full of possibilities." Our core values include: health & wellness, accessibility, lifelong learning, volunteerism, social connections, fun, and professional customer-focused staff. We approach each opportunity as a T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Accomplishes More) philosophy. Opportunities include but are not limited to office/clerical, marketing/communications, activities/events, and driving.

Description:
For the past 20 years, volunteers at the Senior Center have played a vital role in providing programs, activities, and services that enhance the quality of life in the community. Our program is successful with working with individual volunteers who are able to make a minimum commitment of 6 months. All volunteers are scheduled, therefore we do not accept walk in volunteer requests. Unfortunately, our program is not set up fulfill court hours or to support large group volunteers.

Currently, on average, the Senior Center welcomes 178 patrons a day. As our programs, activities, and services continue to expand so does the need to attract and retain dedicated volunteers. The majority of our instructors come from local Adult Education programs and Las Positas College. Our bi-monthly newsletter, “Dublin Doings”, details our programs, activities, events, and services.

History:
Prior to 1988, the City of Dublin only offered a small senior program at the Shannon Community Center. In 1988, the multipurpose room within Fallon School was converted and became the Dublin Senior Center. In 2005 the new and beautiful 15,200 square foot Dublin Senior Center located at 7600 Amador Valley Boulevard in Dublin opened.

Along with spacious outdoor patios, showcased public art and an eye-catching water feature, our 6.3 million dollar building includes a catering kitchen, ballroom, game room, classroom, meeting room, and many amenities ideal for event rentals.
